Well, not the last chance ever, but the last chance for sometime.
Singer-guitarist Mary Shannon is hopping on a jet plane, and she’s not sure when she will be back again.
“I’m off to Canada, and the girls will be focusing on their other projects for a while,” Shannon said.
As a send off, the Launceston band is having an unofficial EP launch at the Gunners Arms on Saturday night, alongside Hobart band Naked.
Shannon said the band (sister Lucinda, plus Sheridan Kerr, Yasmin Pauna Reece, and Tori Rattray) was too disorganised to have a proper launch for Dandy.
It will also be a glimpse into what Bansheeland’s forthcoming album will have to offer, which will be released while Shannon is overseas to keep the band’s momentum rolling.
“We’re going to be playing a lot of tracks from our upcoming album also, which we haven’t played live before,” she said.
“We’ve got quite a few bangers on there that we’re pretty excited about.”
You can say goodbye to Bansheeland at the Gunners Arms in Launceston on Saturday, May 7, from 8pm, with Naked and Teens.
