Hill first joined the club in 1988 as an import from Launceston and would often head out to training on a Thursday and not get home until Sunday night.
The hard nut defender’s career included the club’s 1993 premiership and 1994 reserves flag, however, a knee injury limited his journey to about 150 senior games.
Hill became a committeeman in 2000 and is now the club’s handyman, gate collector, timekeeper and barman – basically wherever needed.
Hill, better known as Benny, is also heavily involved with the girls’ teams with two of his three daughters playing for Evandale.
This week he is in Melbourne to watch his daughter Georgia represent Tasmania in the under-18 national carnival.
Hill is this week’s NTFA MyState volunteer of the week nominee.
