This year’s Launceston Zombie Walk will for the first time raise money for charity, with the proceeds of entry fittingly going to the Brain Foundation.
“This is our first year raising money for charity, we decided to take it more seriously this year,” organiser Dylan Wall said.
“I suppose it’s sort of ironic in a way that zombies are raising money for the brain foundation.”
Mr Wall said the walk would start off at City Park, before moving through the city and the mall to Princess Square.
“We see a lot of Zombie hunters, post-apocalyptic war survivors and Freddy and Jason horror characters which is really cool.”
Categories for prizes include Best Zombie, Best Zombie Family and Most Creative Zombie.
Launceston Zombie Walk will take place at City Park in Launceston on Saturday and runs from 12pm onwards.
A gold coin donation goes to the Brain Foundation.
