After luring Anthony Koutoufides and Stephen Milne to the club in recent years, the Magpies pulled off the double this season with premiership players Brad Sewell and Adam Schneider both pulling on the black and white for the round three clash.
Scottsdale secretary Peter Fish said both Schneider and Sewell proved themselves to be top characters over the course of the day.
“The two players were only too happy to stick around afterwards with players and supporters, Schneider actually went into the Longford rooms afterwards off his own bat and thanked them for playing,” Fish said.
“He comes from a very small town in New South Wales so there was obviously a connection there but I thought it was really good that he went in there and spoke to them.”
The club then welcomed 180 to its post-match function where the two players were joined by former Collingwood star Peter Daicos and comedian Dave Hughes.
Daicos and Schneider then fronted up Sunday morning to hold a clinic with some young footballers in the area before jetting back to the mainland.
