The Perth Recreation Ground 2030 Master Plan, which aims to accommodate the town's sporting requirements beyond the year 2030, will soon be released for community consultation, with council encouraging Perth residents to have their say on the town’s future.
Implementation of the plan is likely to take place gradually over the long-term as council gathers funding to make redevelopments.
Northern Midlands mayor David Downie said council was keen to hear a vast range perspectives in order to make the to best call for the complex’s future.
"We want the public to have input into this plan and then that input will be considered and the plan can be adjusted so then we'll end up with a good plan to be able to work on," Cr Downie said.
"There's a suggestion to move the skate park but people might not like that so that's why we're seeking public input."
The recreation ground redevelopments will mark another welcome infrastructure boost for the town, which is currently in the thick of the Midland Highway upgrades.
Cr Downie said he was expecting to see a considerable population growth in the town following the completion of the Perth bypass, which is scheduled to come into service by March 2018.
"Perth is a growing town and there's a lot of young people at Perth and the sporting facilities are a very important to the town and we want to have it developed in an appropriate way that suits all parties.
"It's right next to the school so there's an ability for the school to be able to make use of the facilities there so that's a big plus."
Cr Downie said the upgrades would be crucial to ensuring Perth residents had the necessary facilities to engage in physical activity.
“I think it's great that the council's looking to strategically plan into the future for those facilities and for people that are interested in health and wellbeing and exercise.”
