Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealers are trained to choose the right heat pump or air conditioning system for your home and the Tasmanian Heat Pump Centre in Launceston is the leading Diamond Dealer in the state.
It’s taken out the title for the past two years and is on track to secure it again - with a reputation for excellence in supplying, installing and servicing heat pumps for residential and commercial purposes for more than 25 years.
Sales Manager Steven Spencer said that while most home owners know that heat pumps provide the cheapest and most energy efficient form of heating and cooling - they still have questions and misconceptions that he is more than happy to address.
‘‘Many of our customers are elderly people who want to make their life easier and their energy bills smaller by converting to a heat pump, or younger, busy professionals who need fast, instant heating and cooling,’’ he said. ‘‘Landlords are realising that the maintenance on their property drops and that tenants are easier to find when they install a heat pump in their rental property.
‘‘And we’re starting to get great interest in units that can be controlled from anywhere in the world through Wi-Fi - brilliant for shack owners who want a toasty warm room to arrive to over winter - they simply use their phone to turn it on well before they get there!’’
Some of the questions Steven regularly gets asked are:
Q: How much can I save on my power bill? A: A heat pump is 70 per cent cheaper to run that an electric heater.
Q: Are heat pumps noisy inside or outside the house? A: No. Modern units are extremely quiet and if your heat pump is making any noticeable noise it most likely needs servicing or replacing.
Q: Can a heat pump cope with the very coldest and hottest days in Tasmania? A: As long as you receive expert advice on the positioning and size of the heat pump required for your home they are incredibly consistent and reliable in the warming and cooling they provide.
Q: Do I need to have my heat pump serviced regularly? A: An annual service is recommended to make sure there is no mould developing on the inside head (any funny smells from your unit means this needs to be checked immediately).
The unit will be cleaned inside and out and the alkaline batteries replaced in the remote.
