Held at the Beaconsfield Skate Park, this year's Youth and Community Festival will kick off at 12pm on Friday April 15, with attractions set to include a Red Herring skate competition, free zorb ball activities and a host of young performers including Tim Gambles, Serenity Jones and Awkward Silence.
West Tamar Rotary Club will be on hand to provide a free sausage sizzle.
West Tamar Council youth development officer Andrew Beeston said Tasmanian sporting talent would be on hand to dish out tips to the next generation.
“We'll have two Launceston Tornadoes players Lauren Mansfield and Mikaela Ruef coming to do a mini basketball clinic,” Mr Beeston said.
“They'll be here for the first part of the festival in the gym and people can join in as they please.”
The festival will also see the culmination of an art project which has been taking place across West Tamar schools during first term.
“The artwork is based around what hope looks like, so hundreds of students have entered their artwork and the competition will have a display at the festival with the winners announced.
“It's just going to be a really great event for the whole family and there'll be something for everyone to do.”
The festival is organised by the West Tamar Youth Advisory Council and supported by West Tamar Council and Anglicare Tasmania's Communities for Children initiative.
