Weather forecast: Partly cloudy. Maximum of 27 degrees. Winds northwesterly at 25 to 35 km/h.
Coffee aficionados rejoice: Festivale has provided this year. Sweetbrew Coffee has made its first appearance at Festivale a memorable one, serving latte lovers out of a decked out coffee caravan on its maiden voyage. The 'Sweet Little Caravan' has been months in the making, travelling all the way from Albury-Wodonga to Launceston to serve coffee on the move.
If you like hazelnuts..you will love the Hazelbrae Hazelnuts stall. As well as selling hazelnut goodies, stall owner Christie McLeod also wants to promote the health benefits of hazelnut oil and fill a void that she believes Festivale has been lacking each year previously.
The first night of Festivale went off with a bang, with droves of music lovers streaming through City Park's gates in search of fine food and wine and and top-class entertainment. Within five minutes of opening at 5.30pm on Friday, there were hundreds of punters already in the park, ready to enjoy the best of what the annual extravaganza had to offer.
Singer Kate Ceberano stole the audience's hearts on Friday night as she wrapped up the night. Ceberano told the crowd, to cheers, that she had "five generations" of Tasmanians in her family.
