At Riverside Golf Club on Friday afternoon, Andrew Main, Jason Love, Bernie Klasen and Georgi Milbourne, the lowest handicapped female Tasmanian golfer, reflected on their epic journey so far.

The group are pursuing the Carts Fore A Cause challenge to raise awareness and funds for beyondblue.

"We've all been touched by it, some of us have even had depression, I've lost two mates to suicide," Mr Love said.

Exactly halfway through their month-long journey on Friday, the group had played courses ranging from majestic and renowned to obscure courses found via word of mouth.

"We've seen everything from Royal Hobart to Cape Barren Island," Mr Main said.

Travelling Tasmania's roads in golf carts at 30km/h, the group said they'd had prime observation time.

"We know there are 83 courses and over 900 holes [in Tasmania]," Mr Main said.

With only 30 days to complete the challenge, the group is surviving on little sleep.

They're receiving the generosity of hotels, communities and strangers, equivalent to half a million dollars of support.

"The smaller communities certainly have been amazingly supportive, willing to bend over backwards to help us have it happen," Mr Klasen said.

The four friends have exhausted annual leave to complete the challenge.

They initially set off with two other mates, who will likely rejoin the tour soon.

The group also has a support team of two people accompanying them at all times.
