Set on the rolling hills of the 60-hectare Quamby Estate in the Meander Valley, 18 diverse artists performed live to rapturous applause.
QJam organiser Kirsty Aitken said audience response already indicated the inaugural event should return next summer.
‘‘People were asking when the next one was going to be and they’re all excited about it, which has been great because you never know how it’s going to go down,’’ she said.
‘‘It is something we would do again, based on the feedback we have got, for sure.’’
Performers who wanted to be a part of Launceston music history were asked to submit an online video and music devotees voted for their favourites to turn up on Sunday afternoon.
Several hundreds in attendance voted on the QJam website after the last act left the stage to eventually crown Laura Hutchins the winner.
The keyboardist performed Magnets by Lorde and Never Be by Meg Mac.
Ms Aitken said the bigger winner was a new platform for eclectic range of music.
‘‘It was about having a bit of fun showcasing Tassie talent,’’ she said.
‘‘There’s so much talent out there, certainly in the Launceston area, where most of performers were from.
‘‘We just thought what fun to make it a bit of a competition on a Sunday, have a few drinks out as it was beautiful day and watch the local talent.’’
