Federal Member for Lyons Eric Hutchinson visited the Northern Midlands town last week.
"Eight hundred premises around Evandale won't have to wait for cable to be laid through gardens, holes to be drilled through walls and have plastic boxes marring their historic gardens and buildings, these seven cabinets do away with that hassle," Mr Hutchinson said in a statement.
While Evandale residents will receive access to fast internet from June, other countries around the world that have previously installed the FTTN system are now gradually replacing their networks with Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology.
However, while FTTN is not a new technology, Mr Hutchinson said the introduction of it is a major factor in speeding up the rollout across Australia.
"Across Tasmania there are 116,000 premises ready for connection, with around 30,000 under way and a further 90,000 to be connected by 2018.
"That's almost 260,000 premises that will be able to access fast reliable internet for business, education and entertainment", Mr Hutchinson said.
The construction effort is an important step toward the national goal of connecting eight million premises to the NBN network by 2020.
