While returning home to Tasmania from his current residence in Finland, Mr Walker was motivated to help raise awareness about mental health because some of his mates had been affected by the illness while he was away.
Starting at Launceston's Tamar Marine on Friday, Mr Walker made the 120-kilometre walk through what has been some of Tasmania's most unpredictable weather to reach the Great Lake Hotel in the Central Highlands just one day later.
"I tried to gain some time by running, so I ran [from Launceston] to the back of Longford in the pouring rain," Mr Walker said.
"The hardest part wasn't going up the hill, it was once I got to the top and realised I still had a long way to go, it played a trick with my mind," he said.
All money raised from the event will go directly to Beyondblue, including a particularly generous donation of $500 from Longford Fishing Club.
Mr Walker's efforts will be complemented by an event held by his friends called The Great Tassie Trout Race, on February 20 and 21 in the Great Lake area.
