Yet after hearing about the perks of growing blueberries from a few local men in Tasmania's North-East, Mr Millwood thought he'd try out his luck on his property at Bridport.
Now, what started as a hobby farm during time spent at home has transformed into an opportunity for Mr Millwood to trade in the tools and grow his own business.
"I've always had a bit of a passion for horticulture and stuff," Mr Millwood said, adding that as his blueberry trees developed, so too did his knowledge of how to manage them.
"I've just learnt it all as I've gone alone really," he said.
Operating under the name Berry Blue Farm, Mr Millwood now cares for 1000 plants - a number he hopes to maintain with the help of just a few family and friends.
"I'll keep it this size and focus on quality not quantity so I can manage it myself," he said
"Being outside in the fresh air of Tasmania instead of breathing in the dust in the Pilbara - it is a lot better workplace environment."
Berry Blue Farm currently sells to local supermarkets and cafes.
