Nostalgic rock acts such as Jebediah, Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon and the Beautiful Girls will headline the concert, with plenty of up-and-coming acts also in the mix.
Festival director Clint Pease said the event was set to be a success, with about 2000 people expected on January 9.
‘‘It’s shaping up well,’’ Mr Pease said.
‘‘Ticket sales are ramping up now, which is good, and it looks like on the long-range forecast we’re going to have some sensational weather as well, so in a few days we’ll start bumping-in and getting things shaped up for the weekend.’’
Mr Pease said the festival had come a long way since its early days in the 1970s to its revival last year.
‘‘People for many, many years have wanted a concert back in the Gorge – it’s an awesome place, probably one of the best venues around for live music – so we’ve put something together that attracted many and fit into the family vibe as well.’’
The event would be all ages, with tickets still available both at the gate and online.
There was also a custom-built motorbike, currently on display at Mojo Music, to give away to a lucky ticket-holder.
