In an ongoing rape trial in the Supreme Court, in Burnie, the woman this morning  confirmed she told the man on Facebook she did not know if she would come to his house, while she was already walking there.

Being cross-examined by defence counsel Greg Richardson, the woman confirmed she later messaged the man  that she was close to his house.

The man messaged asking why she lied.

She replied on Facebook: ''Because it was funny.''

Mr Richardson asked if she was distressed and only going to the house to have sex because she was forced to, why was she winding up the man and telling him it was funny.

''I figured I was winding him up when I told him I was only two seconds away,'' she said.

Mr Richardson suggested to her the sex she had with the man that night last year was consensual.

She denied that.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons relating to protecting the identity of complainants in sex cases, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape.

It is alleged he raped her once when she submitted  because of the photo threat - that is, without giving true consent - and the second time when  he allegedly forced himself upon her.

Earlier, the woman agreed with Mr Richardson there had been a pattern between herself and the man, where she would initiate contact with him via Facebook, a consensual sexual relationship would follow and  she would dump the man.

That happened several times in the years leading up to the night of the alleged rapes.

She confirmed the man had told her how difficult that was for him emotionally.

She agreed with Mr Richardson that in the months before the night in question, the accused man  unfriended her on Facebook and that it was obvious he had no longer wanted her in his life.

''Who contacted who?'' Mr Richardson asked.

''I believe I contacted him,'' she said.

The woman gave evidence she kept her relationships with the man secret from her family, and they would sometimes have sex in the grounds of Burnie primary schools to help keep them secret.
