THREE-year-old Elliott McLarron looked the part in his red Santa hat at the Apex Launceston Christmas Parade on Saturday, but it wasn't the man in the red suit that stole his attention.

Elliott's favourite character was Darth Vader.
He said it was his "light thing" and head piece that he liked.
Elliott was one of thousands of people who lined the streets of Launceston's central business district in the sunshine for the 11am parade, which organisers have hailed as having a "fantastic turnout".
Elliott was at the parade with his mum Jane McLarron and dad Ryan Harman and got to watch his brother Locky, 7, ride around in a fire truck.
The Disney themed parade featured 35 floats, with the crowds getting to high-five Cinderella, wave at Frozen character Elsa and spot the 101 Dalmatians Ford.
Best float award winners included Larmenier Catholic Primary School (most theme adherence), Prospect Medical Centre (creativity and craftsmanship), Bee Bop Dance Studio (most musical) and St Finn Barr's Catholic School (mayor's choice).
Ms McLarron said not much had changed about the parade since she was young, but she would like to see more lollies given out next year.
Cloe Saunders, who was dressed as Cinderella, was a crowd pleaser giving many children high-fives.
Miss Saunders was part of the Red Cross float and said this was her first year in the parade.
"It has been awesome," Miss Saunders. "I love Disney, I love Christmas and I like making all the kids smile."
The pretty tutus that many dance girls were wearing was what made seven-year-old Matilda Harper, of Launceston, smile.
"They turned around like ballerinas," Matilda said.
Mrs Claus and Santa wrapped up the parade, with many children visiting him after to share what they wanted for Christmas.
Little Elliott said he wanted a yo-yo, while Matilda wanted a mermaid's tail.
The Christmas parade started at the Esplanade, travelled up St John Street, along Elizabeth Street, down Charles Street and Paterson Street before returning to the Esplanade.
