The Eagles made 6-183 after being sent in to bat and restricted Burnie to 9-176 in reply.
Mowbray captain John Le Fevre top scored with 60, Clinton Reid made 39 and Matthew Scolyer 32 – Le Fevre and Scolyer putting on 70 for the opening partnership.
Adam Drinkwell was the most successful Hurricanes bowler taking 3-13 off 10 overs, including five maidens.
Brady Yates top scored in the Burnie run chase with 83 and Nick Revell made 31.
Eagles opening bowler Justin Reeves took 4-35 and Alan Eadie 2-35 with his off-spin.
‘‘It was a good win and pleasing to get the points and hopefully a few results go our way and things open up in the last couple of weeks and we can make the semis of the GNC,’’ Le Fevre said.
‘‘We got sent in on a bowler-friendly wicket with a bit of sideways movement and up and down bounce.
‘‘We made a good start and base for our innings which set the game up for us from there.
‘‘It was game on from when we started bowling – Brady Yates batted well but we managed to contain the rest of their batsmen and snuck home at the end.’’
RIVERSIDE inflicted South Launceston’s first GNC defeat, recording an eight-wicket victory in their match at Windsor Park.
The Knights were bowled out for 198 and the Blues chased down the required runs to finish at 2-199.
UK import James Scott top scored with 55 at the top of the order, Zac Towns made 45 not out and Patrick Mackrell 37 not out.

Shamrocks captain Michael Lukic took 3-23 with the ball off 10 overs with four maidens and Matthew Battle picked up 2-19 off eight.
Sean Stevenson (24) and Battle (51) got Westbury off to a 69-run opening partnership and Dane Anderson made 45 at No.3 as Westbury reached 5-152 off 42.2 overs.
Jarrod Bailey bowled well to pick up the excellent figures of 5-51 off his 10 overs for George Town, claiming all the Westbury wickets to fall.
‘‘The wicket played well right the way through and made for an even game,’’ Lukic said.
‘‘They were cruising at five an over but we fought back after drinks and it was a credit to our bowlers to restrict them and slow them down.
‘‘I thought our chase was very professional with Sean and Matt giving us a platform at the top and bonus points were an option but it didn’t work out that way.
‘‘We lost a couple of wickets at the end going for the bonus point but all in all it was a good performance and it was good to come away with a win with a big game against Ulverstone next week.’’
LAUNCESTON gained their first win and points in the GNC with a six-wicket victory over Wynyard at Wynyard.
The Lions bowled the Blues out for 132 off 41.3 overs after the home side won the toss and decided to bat.
Brodie Stokes top scored for Wynyard with 43 and Jackson Miller and Ben Humphrey both took three wickets each for Launceston.
The Lions then chased down the runs finishing at 4-136 off 43.5 overs.
Alistair Taylor anchored the Launceston innings and top scored with a good knock of 64 not out to help them to victory.
‘‘It was good to get back on the winners’ list,’’ Launceston captain Rowan Smith said.
‘‘They got off to a solid start but Cody Townend got a run-out which sparked us and Ben and Jackson took three each but everyone bowled well as a group.’’
‘‘The run chase was anchored well by Alistair Taylor and we were pretty much under control all the way.’’
