Tasmanian Quality Meats exports fresh and frozen meats to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The company is planning further export growth, to countries including China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau and Mexico.
It recently won its third export award at the 2015 Launceston Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.
Minister for Tourism and Tasmanian Senator Richard Colbeck said he was impressed with the company’s growth.
‘‘Tasmanian Quality Meats is a great local company from my home state whose success is an example to other regional enterprises that are looking beyond Australia’s relatively small domestic market,’’ he said.
‘‘The government’s signing of Free Trade Agreements with Korea, Japan and China will open up new market opportunities for businesses in Tasmania.’’
