DairyTas executive officer Mark Smith said Lee Astridge would be guest speaker and would talk about people management.
"Lee has been involved in people development and management strategies for over 20 years, most recently with a heavy focus in the dairy industry in New Zealand," Mr Smith said.
"She is the founder and principal consultant of No8HR who specialise in human resource management, recruitment and leadership development and whose client base extends from owner-operators to some of New Zealand's most successful corporate farming businesses.
"Lee's presentation will discuss trends in the New Zealand dairy labour market and employment practices.
She will talk to us about the impact she is seeing in the New Zealand dairy sector of the current global price drop for WMP and will discuss how the country's dairy farmers are approaching this in relation to their plans for people in their business.
"Lee sees the current New Zealand situation as providing significant opportunities for Tassie and will cover how we can convert these opportunities for our industry and businesses."
Mr Smith said that other matters to be addressed at the annual meeting included:
● presentation of the DairyTas annual accounts and auditor's report for 2014-15;
● appointment of new directors and chairman for the DairyTas board;
● update on main DairyTas projects and activity;
● dairy levy poll proposal; an
● deviewing priorities for the Tasmanian dairy industry.
The meeting will be at 67 Main Street, Bridport, from 11.30am-1pm, next Thursday.
