That's how bass guitarist Steve Balbi describes the pub rock outfit who rose to fame in the late '80s, who will be part of the Red Hot Summer tour line-up in 2016.
It will be the start of a year which will see them release their fourth studio album.
"If we were tired and haggard, I wouldn't be doing this, not even for money, I am doing it because I think Noiseworks has something to prove," Balbi told Fairfax Media.
"For us, we do have some unfinished business.
"We haven't tried to reinvent the wheel or anything and have tried to stay true and honest to our brand.
"I think we are all better songwriters now and I think our songs on this album are really strong and it does sound really current, big and fresh and it is Noiseworks now, what we have always done, but just now."
Balbi said he couldn't wait to jump on board the Red Hot Summer Tour train, which will also feature Jimmy Barnes, Mark Seymour and the Undertow and The Badloves.
He said Noiseworks' set would feature "one or two" new songs, but will mainly feature classic hits such as Take Me Back, Hot Chilli Woman and Touch.
Seeing people being "taken back" by these songs is the best part of Noiseworks for Balibi and playing at events like this.
"We did it (Red Hot Summer Tour) probably four years ago and it was great fun then, but it has grown," he said.
"But you look at this line-up, the first tour we did was with Jimmy and then we toured with Jimmy, and we have been really good friends with socially and admired.
"Then you have Mark Seymour, who we all admire, and The Badloves, who we haven't seen much of, but we all love.
"I think it is a very clever line-up and is a closely knitted demographic, so I think it is going to be great event.
"People just want these sort of shows and to reminisce, so that's why they are successful."
The Red Hot Summer Tour will take place at Country Club Tasmania on Saturday, January 30.
The tour will also visit Glenorchy's Toulsa on Sunday, January 31.
