Franklin will entertain the Tonic Bar crowd on Thursday, November 5 and has promised to bring some accompaniment for the song.
"I have a backing track - it's like the full band's there but I won't have to pay to fly them all down," he said.
What's even more exciting is that Tasmania may soon be able to claim the comedy star as its own, with Franklin considering relocating to Launceston to be with his girlfriend.
Franklin said that while he had kept his Tasmanian appearances reasonably low-key so far, he was planning to catch his beloved North Melbourne in action at Blundstone Arena in 2016.
"I sneak in and out of Launceston quite often without anyone knowing.
"We generally hide in the flat most of the time, if we go down to the Kmart we'll go really late at night or we'll go down to where we met, which was the Iron Horse Bar and Grill, and have a drink and a meal there."
Franklin said his show was for anyone who was a fan of Australian comedy, having a beer and having a laugh.
"It's just a full lineup of comedy, there'll be local acts and someone hosting the show and supporting me and I'll headline the show and do what I do - talk about beer and sport and relationships.
"I talk about things that have happened in my life and they all seem to involve one of those three things."
Franklin will also discuss status quo and narrate an unusual post-show encounter with movie star Hugh Jackman.
"He came backstage with $20 in his hand and he asked if he could buy one of my live DVDs and I said 'certainly'.
"He said 'could you sign it for me?' and I said 'do you know who ... you are? You could sign one for me'."
