A TEENAGER was taken to Royal Hobart Hospital early on Friday morning after he threw an explosive item into a fire on Bruny Island.

The article, believed to be a deodorant can, blew up in the 17-year-old's face, and caused him burns to his upper body.
Paramedics treated him at the scene and the rescue helicopter arrived at Adventure Bay and were able to transport him to Hobart.
Police said the man was in a satisfactory condition at the time.
