Crowds queued for favourite rides including the Gee Whiz and Alpine Express and children walked the area dressed as all things magical hoping for the chance to win a prize.
Lieutenant Governor of Tasmania Alan Blow attended the Inveresk Precinct for People's Day alongside an Austin Powers impersonator, an expo of model vehicles and an adorable animal nursery.
The Launceston Show continues until 5pm on Thursday, and is open from 8.30am to 9pm on Friday, and until 5pm on Saturday.
Fireworks will make a return to the show at 9.30pm on Friday.
