David Jurgen, Danielle Archer and their six children lost clothes, belongings and precious memories when a ceiling fan caught fire and ripped through their roof in early August. The terrible incident forced them to relocate to Rocherlea and meant the children had to change schools.
But kindness and generosity has prevailed, with the family receiving dozens of items of clothing from complete strangers in recent months.
‘‘It’s crazy that people come together like that and help others,’’ Mr Jurgen said. ‘‘We’re overwhelmed.’’
Mr Jurgen said he and his family had received enough clothes to fill the back of his car many times over.
Since the fire, the family has been able to move back to Ravenswood.
Tasmania Police and the Tasmania Fire Service have again urged residents to be mindful of all electrical devices in the home.
