PLAYING at this year's Falls Festival would mean the world to Launceston indie-rock band The Saxons.
The group are The Examiner's Foster Band for this year's event, and if they can garner enough votes, the four-piece will get a paid gig at the Marion Bay event.
"It would mean so much to us because it is an opportunity to showcase music we have been working so hard on to people who may have never heard us before," frontman Nick Bennett said.
"We just want to be able to get our music out to as many people as possible."
"Falls means a lot to all of us.
"It's arguably Tassie's premier music event and consistently draws big crowds and acts to our state. It's always been a goal of ours to play at Marion Bay."
Bennett promised if successful, the band would bring "great energy and passion" to the stage at Falls.
"We absolutely love what we do and play music that is important to us.
"Being a young band, these kind of opportunities mean the world to us and we want to make the most of it.
"We've all been to Falls in previous years, and each time we can't get enough of it.
"It's such a good environment to be involved in, everyone is in festival season and enjoying the music and each others company.
"We caught a Gang of Youths show in Launceston a few weeks ago and they blew our mind. It would be great to have a chat to those guys about their progression through the music scene."

They recently released their debut EP Be Rad, Not Sad.
