LAUNCESTON mountain biker Ben Mather won the solo male category of the Launceston Mountain Bike Club's season-opening, four-hour enduro at the Trevallyn Reserve on Sunday.

Mather completed eight laps of the 10-kilometre course to claim his first club victory of the season.
Launceston's Steven Brown completed the second most laps in the alloted time, with Joel Cooper third.
Deviot's Jodie Bush took out line honours in the women's solo section, completing six laps from Launceston's Ange Sanders and Hobart's Sophie Kelly. In the under-19 category, Launceston's Caleb Clark was first with seven laps completed, followed by Joshua and Sam Van Baalen, of Devon Hills.
"It's been an unbelievable day for it weather-wise and we had just over 100 competitors, which we are very happy with for the first race of the season," LMC race director Doug Miller said.
The junior pairs event went to the Cousins Won team from Bike Plus and Clip'n'go. The women's pairs winner was Naomi Celia with six laps from Between a Rock and a Hard Place.
The men's pairs went to the My MTB Racing team with eight laps, closely followed by Iles and Gunn.
The mixed team winners were Lonergan and Muller.
