ROCK outfit Captives can't wait for the first Launceston show in about a year, and will be using the night to "catch up with some mates", says vocalist Aaron Damon.

The group, which has North-West origins but is based in Melbourne, have been hard at it working on a new album since they were last in the city, one they hope will be released in 2016.
"We started pre-production on that back in January and have been back and forward to the studio a million times getting it all into shape," Damon said.
"It looks like we might have a song out very soon actually, other than that we released a 12" vinyl back in April and played loads of shows all over the place ever since."
Captives have brought together a strong line-up for their show at The Royal Oak on Saturday.
"Jimi Steele is kicking things off with some sexy acoustic tunes, followed by The Hunted Crows," Damon said.
"We did a show with them at the Espy last year and for a two piece they pack a mighty punch.
"Verticoli are also doing the drive up from Hobart, we did a show with these guys not too long ago as well and they are total legends, who know how to rock a stage.
"We have a few new tunes we are going to be trying out for the first time as well."
Doors open at 8.30pm.
