Tourism Research Australia figures show a 22 per cent increase in visitors travelling to Tasmania in the year to June 2015.
Tasmania now boasts the best growth rate for overseas travellers in the country - and twice the rate of the next best-performing state, Victoria, at 11 per cent.
On the back of that increase, there has been a 30 per cent increase in holiday nights spent, while the average length of stay for a holiday maker in Tasmania has jumped 8 per cent to an average of 12 nights.
Chinese visitors grew by 38 per cent, US visitors were up 25 per cent, UK visitors were up 33 per cent, while Canadian visitors up more than 50 per cent.
