The club's 1973 state premiership team was the first to be inducted into the Tasmanian Hall of Fame, but on Sunday the club breaks new ground, hosting its first NTFA finals match. Club president Cameron Moore said the NTFA first semi-final at Scottsdale was creating strong interest from the local community.
"Sunday will be a special day for the club and the North-East community," he said.
"For the first time ever, footy supporters in our district can enjoy some NTFA finals action, and we have planned a festival-like atmosphere to celebrate the occasion.
"Dorset Council staff have the ground and its surroundings in outstanding condition, and our club is appreciative of the NTFA board for granting us a finals match."
A host of activities for children has been organised including face painting, a jumping castle, handball and a special visit from Hawthorn mascot Hawka.
Vendor stalls highlighting club sponsors and local businesses have been set up, and inside the clubrooms there will be a market featuring local crafts people and party planners.
"We will be showcasing all that is good about our area, as well as regional footy at its best," Mr Moore said.
