Marcos Ambrose, Stephanie Rice, Robert DiPierdomenico and Billy Birmingham will all be guests at the Hadspen Cricket Club’s Toxfree Champions of Sport luncheon at County Club Tasmania on Friday, November 13.
President Scott Plummer said the event was following on from the success of a similar event in March with Sir Ian Botham and Dean Jones.
‘‘The club thought there was potential in Launceston for an event like this, and we will look to bring these kind of speakers to the city on an annual basis,’’ Mr Plummer said.
‘‘This line-up offers people great diversity with Dipper being a Hawthorn legend, Marcos having just arrived home from NASCAR and Stephanie Rice’s resume speaking for itself.
‘‘But every Australian cricket fan would have grown up listening to Billy Birmingham taking off the Channel Nine commentary team, and they will be able to hear him live in Launceston for the first time – he has never been to Tassie.’’
Mr Plummer said there would also be live and silent auctions, a business card draw, a raffle and lucky door prize.
