Thomas, 15, was judged as the best player for the carnival played at Geelong and his football ability is starting to open doors.
After the national carnival he was picked in the Flying Boomerangs national under-15 Aboriginal team which competed on the Gold Coast last week and in January he is off to South Africa with the All-Australian team to play some exhibition matches.
Thomas, a Year 9 student at Prospect High School, shares his football between the North Launceston under-15s and development league teams, and his long-term ambition is to play AFL football.
Under-15 coach Brett Mansell described Thomas as a highly skilled footballer with a big future.
