Launceston is expected to receive between three and six millimetres of rain, with the chance of hail in the afternoon.
On the back of up to 14 millimetres of rain recorded across Tasmania in the 24 hours up to 9am on Sunday, the Bureau of Meteorology has released a flood watch for north east river basins and the Huon River.
River rises have already been observed, and ruther rain and melting snow throughout Sunday and Monday could see some catchments approach minor flood levels.
Snow is expected as low as 200 metres on Sunday evening, and down to sea level overnight and into Monday morning in the Western districts.
The bureau further issued a road weather alert, warning of snow covered roads on Sunday evening and during Monday in parts of the North West Coast, central North, North East, western, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.
Marine wind alerts - including small craft alerts, strong winds, and gale - are present on Sunday and Monday around the coastline.
There is a bush walkers alert for the Central Plateau and Western forecast districts, and a sheep graziers' alert for most forecast districts, including King and the Furneaux islands.
