Damian Stebbings, 36, faced the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Defence solicitor Jarrod Van Arkadie said his client pleaded not guilty to armed robbery.
Magistrate Sharon Cure refused bail and committed Mr Stebbings for trial to reappear in the Supreme Court in Launceston on October 12 at 10am.
