WALES' World Cup netball squad has touched down in Tasmania to fine-tune preparations for the sport's showpiece tournament.
The world No.8 side will be based in Launceston until Friday, with the highlight of the visit their match against the Australian Centre of Excellence at the Silverdome on Thursday.
"We are looking for some real intense match play against quality teams, where we can find some strong combinations heading into Sydney," Wales coach Trish Wilcox said.
Captain Suzy Drane said the team would be looking to embrace the "hype" of the tournament, thanks to the players' early arrival into the country.
"With netball so big in the southern hemisphere, it will be good for us as a team to see what that is like on a smaller scale before we get to Sydney," she said.
On their first full day in the city on Monday, the 12-player squad and six support staff explored Launceston's Cataract Gorge, and loved what they saw.
Thursday's game starts at 5pm, however those wishing to attend are advised to arrive by 4.30pm for the pre-match ceremony.
Tickets will be available at the door.
On Saturday, the Welsh team will play Scotland, who are also basing themselves in the state before the world cup. Scotland play the Tassie Spirit on Monday in Hobart before departing for Sydney.
The Netball World Cup will be held from August 7-16 around Sydney's Olympic Park.
