At the other end of the ground, Ulverstone’s Alex Pearce played on Ben Griffiths (who kicked 0.2) and finished with nine possessions and three marks.
Devonport’s Ben Brown continued his recent good run of form with a haul of 3.2 from 13 possessions and four marks in North Melbourne’s big win over Brisbane.
Mitch Robinson, originally from Lauderdale, never stopped trying, laying 10 tackles, collecting 26 possessions and taking four marks in the losing cause.
Dodges Ferry’s Jeremy Howe again looked more comfortable in defence than attack for Melbourne, collecting 22 touches and taking 11 marks in the Demons’ loss to St Kilda.
Wynyard’s Colin Garland played on Nick Riewoldt, and had 10 touches, while Riewoldt starred with three goals in the tough conditions.
Burnie’s Maverick Weller continued his role forward for the Saints, kicking 1.2, having five score involvements laying six tackles, taking eight marks and collecting 17 possessions on Jack Grimes.
Glenorchy’s Jimmy Webster finished with 11 touches, while Eli Templeton, from Burnie, came on in the final term and finished with three touches.
George Town’s Toby Nankervis won 10 hitouts, laid six tackles and collected eight possessions in Sydney’s loss to West Coast.
In Canberra on Saturday, Launceston’s Jackson Thurlow collected 15 touches, had five score involvements and took three marks, while Jake Kolodjashnij, also of Launceston, played on Toby Greene and Adam Tomlinson, and had 12 touches.
Surprisingly, Devonport’s Grant Birchall didn’t cash in to the full extent in Hawthorn’s destruction of Carlton on Friday night, collecting 21 touches and taking five marks, but did have eight score involvements.
Meanwhile, Liam Jones, of West Moonah, kicked one of the Blues’ four goals for the night, keeping Brian Lake to six touches.
