The Blues jumped out of the blocks kicking four goals to nil in the first quarter with the breeze, but it was one-way traffic after quarter-time as the Demons settled and took control of the contest to run out easy winners 19.8 (122) to 7.4 (46).
Julian Debosz continued his good form with an eight-goal haul up forward for Hobart City to be one of their best players, with Jayden Charlton named best on ground and Ryan Matthews and Gareth Delaney other good players.
Sonny Whiting kicked three goals for the Blues, but good players were hard to find in a disappointing performance with Zach Griffiths, Jack Donnellan and Brennan Savage all good in defence.
"We controlled the first quarter with a three or four-goal wind and were going OK the first 10 minutes of the second against it and then a couple of horrific umpiring decisions went against us and we completely lost control of the game from then on," Launceston coach Scott Stephens said.
"We regrouped at half-time being three or four goals down and still had an opportunity to get ourselves back in the game, but the boys did not respond at all.
"The third quarter was OK, but they managed to keep the scoreboard ticking again and in the last quarter I threw some positional changes around, but we were terrible to be honest."
Stephens said they fell down in skill level, competitiveness and tackling in a poor performance in contrast to last week's competitive effort against North Launceston.
"Heads will roll and the axe will be out this week and we will start playing for next year and have a look at some of the kids and play them in some different positions and some prominent roles," he said.
The win moved the Demons to an 8-6 record and two games clear of Devonport in sixth spot with the Magpies to play Burnie on Sunday.
