As of Saturday, $6139 had been donated to her cause, with $8000 needed to help get her second EP off the ground.
"We've been so overwhelmed with the support we've received so far," Thetford, who is now based in Melbourne, said this week.
"I honestly can't express my gratitude.
"The music industry is tough and at one point or another, as an artist, you experience some form of self-doubt, no matter how determined you are."
Thetford, who found success thanks to the Melbourne Music Bank contest, said the tracks she had already written for this recording were more "bluesy and grungy" than her 2013 debut.
"I've found my songs are evolving and changing as I grow and mature as an artist and human being," she said.
"There are so many things I've learnt and discovered that have influenced my more recent compositions.
"The upcoming EP embodies more of my feelings at becoming an adult and finding that not everything is roses and butterflies.
"At the same time there are some incredibly amazing things to discover as we travel, encounter new people and take in foreign landscapes. I'm really looking forward to sharing our new tracks."
