He was recognised for his service this year with a certificate from the Tasmanian Bus Association.
Mr Jacobs had a few chuckles about his time on the road but said most children had been well behaved on their trips to and from school.
"Treat 'em as people and they're okay," he said.
"If you can get respect from them it's all you need.
"The kids are good."
Mr Jacobs said he had become well acquainted with a number of families from the region.
"The children I'm carting now, I used to cart their parents and grandparents," he said.
Four hours a day, five days a week, Mr Jacobs is on the road for bus contracting company IJ and NE Miller.
Bus owner Ian Miller paid tribute to Mr Jacobs' decades of driving.
Mr Miller said Mr Jacobs' work had been invaluable.
"He's been a very good driver," he said.
"If I hadn't had Henry I would've had to give up and drive."
But when will Mr Jacobs, 84, retire?
"I retired 20 years ago," he laughed.
"It didn't suit me."
