The Launceston Tornadoes coach was rewarded for his side’s 4-0 record in June, but said all the credit should go to his players.
‘‘It was great to get recognition again, but it is a reward for the girls and the work that they have put in,’’ Potter said on Tuesday.
‘‘When a coach gets this, it is because their team has done really well, so this is mainly for the players and I am really proud of them.
‘‘Our group over the past two months have been spectacular, but the next month and half is really tough, and we probably are a few wins off solidifying a playing spot and a home final.’’
The Torns, who have an 11-5 record for the season, now turn their attention to away games against Bendigo on Friday and Dandenong on Saturday.
‘‘They are two big tough games, but once we get through that we only have single games left,’’ he said.
‘‘We only have six games left for the year, and with some other teams having eight, we are on our own home stretch, and this week is going to be tough.’’
The Torns will be without vice-captain Gemma Korpershoek.
‘‘That will be a real test for some of our young girls to step up and fill that gap,’’ he said.
’‘‘Hopefully that loss to Geelong will be a bit of a wake-up call and they will go and take on that challenge this weekend.’’
