The 17-year-old, St Pats year 12 student joined the club at the start of 2014 after playing junior footy at North Launceston.
"I've played about seven senior games for Launceston now in between playing independent school football as well," Murfett said.
"I have had to improve my strength because I am not the biggest or tallest guy, along with my agility and endurance and my skills this year, with Chris Hills helping me a lot in that area."
Murfett said he had been happy with his form in his senior games so far this year after a foot injury interrupted his pre-season for about two months.
"I was pretty happy with the way I found the ball and played my role last week against Glenorchy.
"The coach seemed pretty happy too, but there is always stuff to keep on learning and improving," he said.
"I just want to keep playing consistent football at senior level and get more experience under my belt."
Launceston coach Scott Stephens had some positives to say about the progress that the young footballer was making.
"Curtis has been a progressive type and obviously he is a little bit undersized in height and stature, but he makes that up by his enthusiasm and aggression around the footy," he said.
"He is extremely fit and quick and uses that to his advantage.
"He played the last five or six weeks of school footy for St Pats, so it was good to see him come back and bring that form with him to senior footy last week against a quality side so I am looking forward to him taking some more steps forward in the latter part of the year."
