The 24-year-old from Pickerington, Ohio, joined the club this season and has been an integral part of the Torns’ success which sees them with 10 wins and four losses and on a nine-game winning streak.
With the Torns hopeful of finals this season, they will need Harmon fit and back on court as soon as possible to make play-offs.
‘‘I tore my meniscus and had surgery last Thursday but I got about on the weekend and I’m doing really well,’’ Harmon said getting around on crutches.
‘‘Hopefully I will only be sidelined for about a month and I will be back before the end of the season.’’
Harmon said she had been through the same injury on her other knee and was aware what rehabilitation she needed.
‘‘I will be doing a bunch of different rehab exercises to keep the quad activated and it’s important that I take my time and when the time comes I will be ready to go,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s very frustrating to ever have to be sidelined or hurt but I am glad that it happened now and not later and I can still be back and helping my team out with finals.
‘‘They are doing a good job and I am really proud of them especially for the way they played on Saturday and I’m very confident I will be back and I’m feeling really good about it.’’
Harmon said she did not remember hurting her knee in any particular game but said it just got sore and tight.
‘‘It started to affect my playing which was going down so it was definitely time to get it taken care of so that I am back in time to help my teammates out,’’ she said.
‘‘You can tear your ACL or PCL but this is minor compared to those sort of injuries.’’
