WHAT: Hot Dub Time Machine.
WHEN: Saturday, June 27.
WHERE: Republic Bar, Hobart.
HOT Dub Time Machine is the closest to time travel you'll ever get.
At least for a while, anyway.
It's a travelling dance party that takes you all the way back to the 1950s to twist through a wormhole of music back into the present.
While the average home DJ could pick the best songs of each year and play the first 30 seconds, Tom Lowndes, the time-master himself, puts incredible energy into getting the whole venue shaking.
Despite most of the sellout crowd not old enough to remember life without wireless internet, cheers and screams were heard right through the 60s, 70s and 80s.
The 35-year-old Sydneysider also known as DJ Tom Loud packed out two shows at the Republic Bar in Hobart over the weekend pumping out tunes from the Beatles to Beyonce, the Rolling Stones to Snoop Dogg, ABBA to Nirvana.
An excited crowd steamed up the venue with hours of dancing with security required to prevent overly-nostalgic revellers getting onto shoulders and, at some points, the stage itself.
The multi-generation DJ played US festival giant Coachella earlier this year and also featured at Groovin' the Moo before touring around Australia.
For those who missed his final Tasmanian show for the year, the time machine is sure to return for those prepared to party through time.
