A grains research forum will take place on July 23 in a bid to see just how successful current farming systems are.
Optimising yields from dual purpose crops, effective weed control, overcoming subsoil constraints, the seasonal outlook and emerging disease threats will be key topics of discussion at the forum.
Grains Research and Development Corporation Southern Regional Panel chair Keith Pengilley, of Conara, says the update offers a valuable opportunity for growers to hear from experts about tools and tactics that can be employed to improve their farming systems.
"There is a great deal of useful information and insights coming out of GRDC-funded research and development, and these have the potential to make a difference on-farm here in Tasmania," he said.
"I encourage everyone involved in growing grains in this state to get along to the update to learn about these advances so they can get the most out of their farming enterprises."
Tasmanian grain growers and their advisers will gather at the Grange in Campbell Town on July 23 for the event.
