The former Liffey school grounds were host to about 15 busy workers, who planted 19 new fir trees in the empty lot next to the old school house.
Each tree represents a former pupil who fought in World War I.
Liffey Hall Committee member and Liffey market co-ordinator Quenton Higgs said it took the group about 18 months to raise enough funds to purchase the trees.
Mr Higgs said the trees were planted to replace many of the original trees, which no longer stand on the grounds, planted in honour of the Anzac soldiers.
The committee also gained a $1000 federal government Anzac grant to assist with purchase of materials for the memorial site, which will, in years to come, boast an impressive 20-metre-high canopy.
Mr Higgs said the official recognition of the trees would be held from 2pm at the market on Sunday, September 13.
"If you'd like to come out to Liffey, it'll be a fabulous day," he said.
