More than 300 volunteer hours have been spent widening and upgrading the Greens Beach Head Coastal Track since January this year.
About 10 men worked on the rejuvenation, which included bridge building and the carrying of heavy loads of gravel.
The West Tamar Council contributed $8000 to the project, which was overseen by council works supervisor Greg Ingham.
Greens Beach Landcare president Mike Boyden said what was formerly a foot track had been widened to 1.5 metres to allow for prams and wheelchairs.
Four hundred metres of the four kilometre walkway benefited from the work.
"Tourists who are here are always saying how nice it is," Mr Boyden said.
"Greens Beach is, in the community's view, a major asset that the West Tamar Council has got.
"We thought we would spend the money and widen it and improve the track."
Mr Boyden said the work had proven meaningful to the men involved.
Mr Boyden said Greens Beach men had tried previously to form a men's shed but had been unable to do so.
The trail improvements were a worthy substitute, he said.
"Since we've been building the track everyone's been really happy.
"We've had a good turn-up to working bees."
The group has since applied for a further $10,000 from the council to take the upgrades further.
