The election follows the passing of mayor Barry Jarvis earlier this month.

As announced by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission on Wednesday, nominations to fill the position of mayor and councillor will open at 9am on Monday, June 22, and close at noon on July 7.

Nominations will be announced at noon on July 8, and voters will receive their ballot material in the post between July 14 and 17.

Polls will close on July 28.
