The 10th annual event took place last Saturday and Sunday and gave an opportunity for divers of all experienced levels to plunge below the surface for a series of adventures off the state's iconic east coast.
This year's event was organised by the Ocean Divers Plus club of Launceston. It takes place every long weekend in June.
The weekend attracted about 200 divers from eight clubs, where dives were carried out adjacent to Governor Island Marine Reserve.
The location provided an ideal spot for the crew and it is known as one of the best diving areas in the country.
Granite boulders and ledges provide habitat for kelp in the shallows and spectacular sponge gardens, zooanthids and other invertebrates at depth made for great picture opportunities, diver Ken Saville said.
Along with the abundant dive sites, the weekend was also full of social events.
An underwater photography shootout, gear and industry displays, great prizes and competitions were all held at the Bicheno Town Hall, about 100 metres from the dive site.
Saturday and Sunday evening allowed the divers to interact and socialise over a meal and beverage, while a variety of presentations were given on diving expeditions, gear and equipment, as well as on science and conservation issues.
"It's a fun-packed weekend, with the underwater photo comp the main attraction on the Sunday night," Mr Saville said.
