A council grant of $3500 was supplemented with $7000 from Exeter Show profits to purchase the Big Dog 60-inch zero turn mower this month.
Exeter Show Society president Trevor Clark said it was an upgrade from the society's previous roller mower.
"It gives a better finish," he said.
"Also, more of our show committee members can use it, so there'll be a better utilisation.
"The showgrounds are privately-owned so we're responsible for all the maintenance of the ovals."
Outside of the annual show, the facility is used by footballers, cricketers and the year-round market.
"We want to keep it neat for the users," Mr Clark said.
"It's a further upgrade of the facility - we like to put profits from our show back into the showground."
Mr Clark said preparations were well under way for the 2016 Exeter Show.
About 2000 people attended this year's event.
He said the organisation hoped to have a Mustang display, a special guest and a whipcracking display on offer next year.
"We will continue looking at things and visiting other shows," Mr Clark said.
