Coach Reece Potter said the Tornadoes had started out slowly, but managed to pull together to take a convincing win.
‘‘We had a pretty tough week with a few injuries and things from the coastal league games so for our group to come out and play the way they did was a really good effort,’’ he said.
‘‘Across the game our defence picked up and it was another really good team win.
‘‘I think the main thing is that our trust and confidence in each other is that much higher and we’ve just got to keep building on it as we go forward.’’
The game ended with the Tornadoes scoring 91 points to Ballarat’s 71, with Alex Wilson the leading point scorer for Launceston.
Potter said Wilson had been a standout during the game, despite nearly being ruled out due to a head injury suffered earlier in the week.
‘‘She played an outstanding game,’’ he said.
‘‘Everyone was a little bit worried about her before the game but she played the game of her life. She was unbelievable.
‘‘We’re starting to get that spread of contribution on offence and defence so I think that’s the best thing.’’
