The 24-year-old from Hobart’s Eastern Suburbs club was among the 26 athletes named by Athletics Australia on Tuesday for the Beijing event from August 22-30.
Peacock, the Tasmanian record-holder and a former national champion, attended the 2013 world champs in Moscow a year before winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
This year Peacock collected his third national championship silver medal and won the Briggs Classic on his home track.
Australian athletes will prepare at a team camp in Wakayama, Japan, with the first contingent to arrive in the host city on August 19.
